Two brutal murders. One of the most famous men in America. A mountain of physical evidence. And a verdict that divided a country.
On 12 June 1994, Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman were found murdered outside Nicole’s home in Brentwood, Los Angeles. Within hours, suspicion was closing in on her ex-husband: NFL legend, actor and American icon O.J. Simpson.
What followed became one of the most extraordinary criminal cases in modern history.
The blood. The gloves. The rare shoes. The unexplained timeline. The white Bronco chase. A history of domestic violence. A defence team that turned the LAPD itself into part of the case. And a trial unfolding in the shadow of Rodney King, the Los Angeles riots and decades of distrust between police and the African American community.
More than thirty years later, the O.J. Simpson case remains one of the most controversial, disturbing and endlessly debated murder cases of all time.

On the evening of 28 November 2004, 30-year-old bank manager Alistair Wilson was at home with his wife and two young sons in the quiet Scottish town of Nairn.
At around 7pm, a stranger knocked on the door and asked for Alistair by name.
The man handed him a blue envelope marked with a single word: Paul.
The envelope was empty.
Alistair went back outside to speak to the visitor, and moments later, three gunshots were heard.
He died in hospital that night.
Ten days later, the murder weapon was discovered in a nearby drain: a rare, decades-old German pocket pistol. But despite the gun, an eyewitness description, thousands of enquiries and more than 20 years of investigation, no one has ever been charged.
Was Alistair murdered because of his work at the bank? Was the killing connected to his objection to decking outside the hotel opposite his home? Was the man at the door acting alone, or was this a carefully planned two-person operation?

The Appalachian mountains are one of the oldest and most mysterious mountain ranges in the world. Running from Canada right down the east of America to Alabama, they have been home to cultures from across the world.
Each culture has brought their own traditions and beliefs, contributing to the growing legends surrounding the mountains. They hold secrets of entities and animals intent on drawing you away from the correct path. Whistles, songs, even the voices of people you know will call to you from the darkness.
Which of these legends are true? Which are simply folk tales? Whatever the answer is, one thing we do know - people really do go missing forever in the Appalachian wilderness, never to be seen again.

On 3 May 2007, three-year-old Madeleine McCann vanished from Apartment 5A at the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal, while her parents were having dinner nearby with friends.
What followed became one of the most famous missing child investigations in the world - a case filled with missed opportunities, contaminated evidence, disputed sightings, police mistakes, forensic controversy, and suspects whose names would become permanently tied to the mystery.
Was Madeleine taken by an intruder? Was she targeted? Did the investigation lose its best chance in the first few hours? And does the current suspect, Christian Brückner, finally point towards the truth, or is this case still trapped behind too many dead ends?

In July 2015, two-year-old DeOrr Kunz Jr. disappeared from a remote campsite in Idaho. He was there with his parents, his great-grandfather, and one other man. Within minutes, he was gone.
Searchers combed the creek, the reservoir, the campground, and the surrounding wilderness. No body. No clothing. No boots. No confirmed trace.
What began as a search for a missing toddler soon became one of Idaho’s most unsettling unsolved cases - a case filled with conflicting accounts, difficult questions, and theories that still divide people today.
In this episode, we look at the disappearance of DeOrr Kunz Jr., the four adults at Timber Creek, the search that found nothing, the changing investigation, and the question that remains more than ten years later:
What really happened to DeOrr?

In July 1991, 21-month-old Ben Needham disappeared outside a farmhouse on the Greek island of Kos. His family believed he was only a few steps away. Within minutes, he was gone.
For more than three decades, Ben’s disappearance has haunted his family and investigators. Was he abducted? Did he wander away? Was there an accident involving machinery near the farmhouse? And why have so many leads, sightings, searches, and theories failed to bring him home?
In this episode of Dead Ends, we take a deep look at the disappearance of Ben Needham: the family’s move to Kos, the events of 24 July 1991, the early investigation, the white car sighting, the airport and ferry questions, the later digger theory, the false sightings, the DNA disappointments, and the unanswered questions that still remain.

Three of the most unsettling alien encounter stories ever reported.
A couple lose two hours on a lonely road in New Hampshire. A logger vanishes from an Arizona forest while his crew are suspected of murder. And in Britain, military personnel enter Rendlesham Forest after strange lights appear near an airbase.
From Betty and Barney Hill, to Travis Walton, to Rendlesham Forest, these are the UFO cases that helped shape the way we imagine alien encounters: missing time, abduction, military witnesses, official explanations, and stories that refuse to go away.
Were they hoaxes, misidentifications, psychological episodes, military secrets - or something harder to explain?
In this episode, we dig into the timelines, the witnesses, the official accounts, and the theories behind the alien encounter cases that still don’t sit right.

In April 2011, a respectable family home in Nantes, France, sat silent behind closed shutters. Letters claimed the Dupont de Ligonnès family had vanished into witness protection, but beneath the terrace, police would discover something far darker.
Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès and her four children were found buried under the house. Their father, Xavier, a man from an old aristocratic French family, was gone.
Was this a family annihilation followed by suicide? Or did “the vanishing count” stage one of the most chilling escapes in modern true crime?
In this episode of Dead Ends, we look at the murders, the strange letters, the missed police searches, Xavier’s final movements through southern France, and the question that still haunts the case:
Where is Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès?

In 2008, 24-year-old real estate agent Lindsay Buziak arrived at a vacant luxury home in Saanich, British Columbia, for what should have been a high-value property showing.
The buyers were a mysterious couple.
The phone number was fake.
The appointment felt wrong.
And within minutes of entering the house, Lindsay was dead.
In this episode of Dead Ends, we look at the full case of Lindsay Buziak: who she was, how the showing was arranged, why she felt uneasy before she went, the mystery couple seen at the house, the possible drug-bust theory, the question of whether she was specifically targeted, and why the case remains unsolved nearly two decades later.
Was Lindsay the victim of a professional hit, a personal vendetta, mistaken informant retaliation, or something even closer to home?

In this episode of Dead Ends, we look into one of the strangest and most unsettling unidentified person cases in Pennsylvania.
In December 2014, a severed human head was discovered in Economy Borough, western Pennsylvania. The woman had been embalmed. She had undergone post-mortem preparation. And despite forensic work, national attention, and years of investigation, she still has not been identified.
Who was she? How did her remains end up there? And why did parts of the case seem to point toward funeral preparation, cadaver handling, and a world most people never think about?
We break down the known facts of the Economy Borough Jane Doe case, the forensic details, the theories investigators explored, and the disturbing questions that still have no clear answer.
This podcast contains discussions of death, crime, and disturbing themes. Listener discretion is advised.
